Opening up membership to The Dogecoin Foundation

Posted: July 20, 2015

Dear Shibes,

The current Full Members of The Dogecoin Foundation have held an assembly and resolved all outstanding issues to open up membership for individual members. This means that once all decisions have been implemented operationally, shibes from all over the world can become a member of the Foundation, start and participate in projects to advance Dogecoin’s position and let their voices be heard. We hope that opening up will help us overcome our current shortage in human resources and allow us to perform in a more timely fashion than we have done so far.

Re-launching the Dogecoin Community Forums

Posted: January 2, 2015

Hello everyone,

First of all this: The Foundation has continued to be rather quiet, as several Shibes have noticed, not because we want it to be, but because the legal situation with regard to cryptocurrency (charities) in the US is currently complicated. Among other things, this means that we cannot properly help with fundraisers, because the recent FinCEN rulings make it very likely that this would make the Foundation a money service business, with all that it implies in terms of licenses and compliance costs.

The Dogecoin Foundation comments on the NYDFS BitLicense

Hello Shibes,

Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies through its amazing, vibrant community made up of people from all walks of life.

Such Foundation Update

Hi Shibes,

We hope everyone had a happy halvening and we'd like to share some news with you.

We have successfully applied for an additional extension of two months for opposition of UltraPro's trademark registration of "Doge". The second extension was needed because we were close to the first extension deadline and research was still being done on similar cases and how best to approach it. We initially filed for the first extension at the last minute because there was no opposition recorded and,... Read more

Such Wow, Many Work, Very Foundation

Hello everyone,

It's been a long time coming, and there haven't been a whole lot of updates, but we finally do have some good things to share with you.

However, let's begin by addressing the elephant in the room: what's been the hold up?

In short: Our daily lives. Time zones. Wanting things to be perfect.

We all have been incredibly busy, either with Dogecoin-related projects or just at our regular work and so getting everyone together in one room was sometimes difficult.

A lot of time was spent with things that were really only interesting to lawyers: reviewing and... Read more

Dear fellow Shibes,

After a good solid month of hard work and effort on our behalf and yours, it is with great pleasure that we get to stand here today and announce the formation of your new Dogecoin Foundation!
